Dotwall collects nothing. Not some things. Nothing. The app contains no networking code at all, so there is no server to send anything to, even by accident.
All of it lives in a small settings file in Dotwall's own App Group container on your iPhone, so the app, the widget and the Shortcuts action can read the same choices. None of it is backed up to us, because there is no us to back it up to.
Dotwall asks for one permission: to add images to your photo library. iOS asks the first time you tap Save, and the wallpaper you just made is written into Photos as a PNG. That is the whole of it. Add-only access means Dotwall cannot see, read, or list any photo you already have. The wallpapers it saves are yours, in your library, and stay there if you delete the app.
If you decline, Dotwall keeps working; only Save is affected, and a line over the preview offers to open Settings so you can change your mind.
The Get Today's Dotwall action and the Year in dots widget read the same settings file on the device and draw the image there. Nothing about the action, the widget or the image goes anywhere else.

Settings has Reset Dotwall, which clears your words, birthday, look and colours. Deleting the app removes the same data. Wallpapers you saved stay in Photos, where they belong to you; delete them there if you want them gone.
Dotwall is rated 4+ and collects nothing from anyone, at any age.
